Davis, White to speak at Comcast leadership event
Event will honor Michigan high school seniors

Michigan high school seniors, recipients of the 2011 "Leaders and Achievers" Scholarship, will be recognized June 14 by the Comcast Foundation at the State Capitol in Lansing, Mich. 100 students were each awarded a $1,000 college scholarship. Comcast works with high school principals, guidance counselors and school administrators to select the scholarship recipients.
Special guests and keynote speakers Meryl Davis and Charlie White, America's first-ever world champions in ice dancing and 2010 Olympic silver medalists, will deliver inspirational remarks to a crowd or more than 225 guests on the steps of the Capitol. Born and raised in Michigan and current college students at the University of Michigan, Davis and White will share their stories of how perseverance and hard work have paid off both on the ice and in daily life.

The 2011 Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program, one of the Comcast Foundation's signature community investment programs, recognizes students who have demonstrated leadership skills, academic achievement and a commitment to community service. The Comcast Foundation was founded in 1999 to provide charitable support to its local communities and to empower and enrich lives.

Special Announcement: Two Leaders and Achievers scholarship winners will be awarded an additional scholarship of $5,000 each during the program, and two netbook computers will be awarded as well. Winners will be selected randomly.
