Meryl Davis and Charlie White head into the 2011 AT&T U.S. Figure Skating

Championships as overwhelming favorites to take their third consecutive title. They won three events in the fall, including their second straight Grand Prix Final, and hope to cap the season by winning America's first-ever world ice dance gold. When they're not on the ice perfecting their programs, they share a love of sci-fi and fantasy fiction, although Davis' taste in movies and TV runs a bit more on the serious side than does her partner's.

What is your favorite movie?

Meryl: I'd have to say Troy; I'm a big classical civilization mythology buff. I've read The Iliad and The Odyssey so many times, and I love the movie even though it doesn't really stick to the story.
Charlie: Wedding Crashers. I usually prefer the comedies.

How about TV show?

Meryl: I'm really into Taboo, on the National Geographic Channel.
Charlie: The Daily Show, with Jon Stewart. Some of these politicians take themselves so seriously and he's just a genius at making you laugh about it.

Moving along -- book?
Meryl: The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Charlie: The Chronicles of Amber, by Roger Zelazny. I like fantasy, sci-fi stuff.

Meryl: Pomegranates
Charlie: Sushi

What's your favorite free-time activity?
Meryl: Really just hanging out, spending time with my friends, especially outdoors.
Charlie: Reading, going to the movies with my girlfriend, Tanith [Belbin]. And golf, but obviously not in winter.
