2006 NHK Trophy

M and C impressed people so much in Nagano that they were interviewed in "Yutaka's Room" (see video below) which primarily features only Japanese skaters. I thought they handled the mildly awkward interview graciously as usual. Gotta love those Japanese fans for having this coverage and enthusiasm. Of course, this is the famous free dance (video below) that was the first to receive all level 4's. Article about their accomplishment at NHK.

2006 Night of Lights

M and C skate to The Nutcracker in the freezing cold but make it look effortless. Note how much the reporter and kids are wearing in the video!

2006 Skate Canada

M and C had a strong Senior Grand Prix debut in Skate Canada finishing 4th and making lots of people take notice of the talented and energetic duo. They had so much energy that they literally ran out of ice and hit the boards during their Golden Waltz, but they seemed to learn from that and used a more 'controlled energy' for the OD and FD. I remember people taking notice of them over the internet and thought to myself, "Ha! I took notice long ago." (I'm sure many of their fans throughout the years thought the same way).

2006 Lake Placid competition

M and C made their senior level debut at Lake Placid. Michelle Wojdyla and the awesome ice-dance.com staff were there to photograph skaters both on and off ice. Mombo's blog entries were particularly entertaining. Photoshoot photos here.
